The German coach, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains something that could happen. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure which brought a European Cup triumph and the Redsâ first league title for three decades, has since taken on positions overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and providing guidance to Germany's league body.
Liverpool won the Premier League last season, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the idea that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he told the podcast host: âI declared I refuse to lead a different club in England. So that means in case it's my former club...absolutely. It's plausible.â
âIâm 58, that means I could make the decision in a few years, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I can just see how things unfold.â
When asked about what circumstances would have to unfold to tempt his return to management, he revealed he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. âI'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,â he said. âNo longing for management; I avoid standing during downpours through long matches; I'm glad to skip interviews repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats a week.
âI donât miss the dressing room in that context, yet sharing a meal with the team having a nice chat, thatâs nice. With many victories meaning regularly a very good mood in the building. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled as an instance.â
He commended regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the adjustments which secured the championship last term. The team has suffered a string of losses across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, though he denied the idea that it might signal the start of a downward turn.
