Inter striker Lautaro Martínez netted a late double to earn his side a 2-0 victory at Pisa, ensuring the visitors very much engaged in the Serie A title race despite a somewhat shaky performance.
Led by manager Cristian Chivu, Inter currently are placed in third position in the standings with 27 points, level with second-placed Roma and only one point behind table-toppers Milan. Meanwhile, Pisa hold the 18th position with 10 points.

Nonetheless, they were forced to fight throughout by promoted Pisa. The home team created plenty of chances, but a clinical Inter broke the deadlock in the 69th minute when Argentinian Martínez drilled a one-time shot into the top of the net. The forward then tapped in from close range seven minutes from time.
Inter’s ability to convert even with pressure proved crucial in securing the victory.
Across in Spain, Real Sociedad staged a dramatic comeback from 2-0 down to level at home against Villarreal, only to succumb to a late strike five minutes into stoppage time. Villarreal’s scoring came from Ayoze Pérez just after the 30-minute mark and Alberto Moleiro in the 57th minute, but Carlos Soler quickly pulled one back and Ander Barrenetxea leveled the score three minutes from time. Yet, Moleiro delivered the last word late in stoppage time.
Later on La Liga match, Real Madrid travel to Girona requiring a win to go back to the top above Barcelona, who secured a 3-1 win over Alavés on Saturday.
