Netflix Casts Spot-On Performer for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bentham. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The actor, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will depict a interpretation of that character re-envisioned as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action show, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.

Escola will work alongside a number of recently announced actors who will portray the group to life, featuring leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though this character is a important part of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given the next season likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this represents a notable change in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
