Previous BBC Consultants Participate in Members of Parliament's Questioning In the Wake of Allegations of Partiality in Disclosed Memo

Previous BBC advisers appearing in front of Members of Parliament

We open with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who chairs the committee.

She commences by offering context to the disclosed memorandum written by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.

"I don't want the BBC tilting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it neutral, fair and just," he declares.

Upon being questioned if he believes the BBC is institutionally biased, Prescott responds: "No I don't. To be clear, a great deal the BBC creates is exceptional - both informative and non-factual content."

However, he continues: "There exists substantial tasks that requires attention at the BBC."

The second previous consultant BBC adviser interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, states she regards the BBC with great importance and that it has a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" on dynamic and complex issues.

"Did the BBC ready to have a genuine conversation and exchange and implement changes?" she questions. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
