The President Welcomes Families of Attacked Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Event

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Steps and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy prompted the government to halt asylum applications and halt granting visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey said on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general stated on Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with distinction, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
