Three Athletes In Contention for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The event will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
The Cricket Sensation
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
